Duygu Aktas is the Women Entrepreneurs Coordinator at Hepsiburada.com, Turkey’s leading e-commerce company where she leads ‘Women Empowerment Through Technology, programme with more than forty-five thousand women entrepreneurs. She is responsible for the strategic direction, vision, growth of Hepsiburada’s flagship programme. A key metric for the women’s entrepreneurship program is to help women entrepreneurs to grow their business via e-commerce.

Prior to Hepsiburada.com, she started her career at Catalonian Grupo Serhs as a marketing specialist and decided to move to retail industry, started in Metro Group AG in Istanbul as a buyer and gained experience in various categories worked with both national and international major brands. She has more than 18 years of experience in tourism, marketing, retail, e-commerce.

She earned a BA (Honours) from Cardiff Metropolitan University, United Kingdom and during her studies; she worked in Cardiff Magistrates’ Court trials and Wales Health Board as an interpreter with Turkish women refugees in women clinics. After her degree in the UK, moved to Spain and completed Spanish Language in University of Zaragoza, returned to Turkey and worked in travel and retail industry ever since.

She is the finalist of British Council Entrepreneurship Award 2019.
